A day that the UK was celebrating Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday, we had the pleasure of being a part of the party in Crewe.  A Crewe Town Council gesture meant that invites to anybody living in Crewe and the surrounding areas who turn 90 in 2016 were invited to join the Mayor for Afternoon Tea. And so, it was Cheshire’s Academy of Integrated Sport that hosted the most delightful afternoon which consisted of sandwiches, cakes and old memories.

Our capacity at the event was to capture photographs, so here are a few that sum up the main part of the afternoon….

Dennis Straine-Francis, Mayor of Crewe, then led the guests outside to light the Olympic flame situated outside Cheshire Academy on Broad Street in Crewe.  Here, our fear of heights was put to the test, as Kirsty from KR-PR Services took to the ladder to get the best shot possible.  You can see her here balancing well, with the help of Cllr Benn Minshall!

Here you can see how the height came in handy…..

The stories and memories that came out from the people celebrating their 90th birthday this year were remarkable.  Such an enjoyable afternoon!
